Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is different from other therapies in that it is drug free, there is no physical manipulation and the conscious mind, with its anxious or analytical thoughts, is bypassed. It is the conscious mind which can hinder the success of the other forms of psychological work such as counseling. Beneficial results are often achieved faster than other therapies. Using the tool of hypnosis the therapist guides the client into a relaxed state enabling direct access to the subconscious mind. This is our instinctive behavior patterns and natural reactions are formed. Using positive suggestion and imagery the therapist is able to focus on the behaviors’ that the client wishes to change.

“Research shows that there is more scientific evidence for Hypnotherapy than any other complementary therapy... by using hypnosis people can perform prodigious feats of will-power and self healing.”
The Health Education Authority

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural method of altering someone’s state of consciousness, you will not lose awareness or control, in fact our awareness is heightened. Hypnosis is the single most powerful psychotherapeutic tool for breaking the negative trance states of Depression and Anxiety. It can help with Stress, Confidence, Smoking, Weight Loss, Phobias, Panic Attacks, Coping with Change…and much more.

The therapist guides you into a relaxed trance state by the sound of their voice. It is not the same as sleep.

Is it Safe?
No-one can be hypnotized against their will and even when in trance people can still reject any suggestions given if they are not appropriate. You will not lose consciousness.

Is all Hypnotherapy the same?
There are different types of therapy for different problems:

Solution Focused Therapy
Especially effective for treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, confidence, fears and phobias, weight loss and much more. It helps desensitize you from emotions of the past or future events and to achieve goals.

Suggestion Therapy
The subconscious mind accepts suggestions during therapy to promote and reinforce positive messages. Used for stopping smoking, exam nerves, nail biting and similar problems.

Analytical Therapy
Sometimes events in our early life can have a negative influence on our present behavior. Through analysis these events can be identified and sometimes this alone will alleviate symptoms.

Hypnotherapy can effectively help:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Panic Attacks
  • Depression
  • Phobias
  • Unwanted Habits
  • Pain Control
  • Lack of Confidence
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Fear of Flying
  • Driving Test Nerves

  • Quit Smoking (Single Session)
